  • OLYMP extends the sponsorship agreement with Borussia Dortmund

    Bietigheim clothing manufacturer remains product partner of BVB in 2016/2017

    OLYMP Bezner KG based in Bietigheim-Bissingen (in the district of Ludwigsburg/Baden-Württemberg/Germany) has been the official product partner of Borussia Dortmund GmbH & Co. KGaA in North Rhine-Westphalia since 2015/2016. Through this special partner status, OLYMP has also acquired exclusivity in supplying the Bundesliga team and the BVB club management with shirts, ties and knitwear for the new season.

    This extended sponsorship agreement means that OLYMP continues to have the right to supply the professional team and the board of directors of Borussia Dortmund with OLYMP business shirts, matching ties and, for the very first time, cardigans. The provision of these garments for approximately 80 people, takes place in collaboration with the BVB fashion partner, ANSON‘S Herrenhaus KG in Düsseldorf, which is also a trade partner of OLYMP Bezner KG. ANSON’S will complete the team's wardrobe through the addition of suits, shoes and belts to guarantee a highly stylish and fashionable look.

The BVB is one of the most traditional and successful German football clubs, and just like OLYMP, its values include authenticity, strong loyalty and clear ambition. In 2016/2017 the product partnership has therefore been extended by a business agreement to supply the BVB fan shops with high quality OLYMP shirts, in order to further intensify and strengthen this advantageous collaboration.“

    BVB fans can choose between four types of shirt from the OLYMP Luxor and OLYMP Level Five ranges in the modern fit and body fit styles of cut. The shirts appear in the club colours and feature tasteful details such as contrasting woven piping and fabric trims in a microprint football design. Other unmistakeable design elements are provided by subtle embroideries featuring the club’s logos “BVB” and “1909”, which appear on the inside of the collar band and on the cuffs - so those who wear these shirts can discreetly demonstrate their loyalty to the football club.

    The service package of the product partnership consists of a wide range of individual communication opportunities at all Borussia Dortmund home games, in which high profile players such as Mario Götze, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, André Schürrle, Marco Reus, Erik Durm and Shinji Kagawa are to some extent involved. This includes video animations, press advertising and editorial content in the BVB stadium magazine “Echt”, as well as logo placements in the club TV commercials or on the product partner boards around the stadium and in the VIP areas. In addition, advertising banners will be placed on the BVB official website and there will also be posts on the official Facebook page of Borussia Dortmund, including a link to the OLYMP Facebook fan page.

    Borussia Dortmund is one of the most successful and popular German football clubs. Besides eight German championships and three DFB cups, in 1966 BVB was the first German club to win the European Cup Winner’s Cup and the Champions League, as well as the Intercontinental Cup in 1997. Today OLYMP Bezner KG is the undisputed market leader for men's shirts in Germany and continues on course for further international growth. The company currently employs around 810 staff in Germany and Austria with sustained increasing annual sales of 250.4 million euros (2016).
